Membership
Membership to the RCN Occupational Health Nurses' Forum Scotland is open to all nurses working in Occupational Health across Scotland.
Membership is free.
The RCN OHN Forum Scotland aims to:
- Provide a corporate identity and support for nurses working in occupational health.
- Provide a system of effective communication between members and to form links with other allied professional groups.
- Provide advice on OH nursing education.
- Provide a focal point for public response and comment of OH topics.
- Provide advice on OH nursing to relevant public bodies.
The forum represents nurses working in all occupational health/safety settings which includes the both public and private sectors and has formal links with the following professional groups :-
- Royal College of Nursing.
- Royal College of Nursing Society of Occupational Health Nurse (RCN SOHN)
- Royal College of Nursing European Group (RCN EU OH)
- Federation of Occupational Health Nurses in the European Union (FOUHEU)
- International Committee on Occupational Health (ICOH)
- Professional Organizations in Occupational Safety & Health (POOSH) (Scotland)
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- NHS Educational in Scotland (NES)
Over the years the RCN OHN Forum Scotland committee has comprised of practitioners /advisors/managers/educators and researchers who have been democratically elected , at the AGM - which is held annually the evening before the conference. The forum committee carries out the administration of all forum activities.
